I first saw this photo and thought, awesome, an inspirational story probably something in the aftermath of the hurricanes down south, two puppies were rescued and taken in by a loving family. This photo actually pertains to a story about what people are giving up in lieu of the declining economic status. This photo really makes you think, we're living history now - our decisions today really do affect tomorrow.

When I first saw this beautiful building I assumed it had to be somewhere far away. There is nothing like this in the United States, sitting on the water like that. I was right in the fact that it is not American. I was amazed that it is actually a performing arts center in China. So many other countries are coming out with amazing architecture, I think the United States is running out of room to try and compete. This picture is beautiful, but it did not help tell what the article was about, unless one recognized it right away. For those that did not the article is a good read from Vanity Fair.

From the picture alone, it is an image with seemingly mixed emotions. A man in a black suit hands a wrapped flag to an officer on the left with a light smile on his face, while the soldiers carry blank, even morbid expressions on their faces. No doubt the man in the black suit looks happy about this handoff, yet the men in uniform look almost burdened by exchange. It looks like the officer on the left is concerned about the responsibility he is inheriting.

In the current state of politics, potentially this photo could say it all; a woman. With Sarah Palin as GOP VP nominee, and Hilary Clinton's defeat at even being on the ticket, women are playing a huge role in defining history, in this sense politically speaking. To me this photo represents an article obviously about Hilary Clinton, judging by the silhouette of her face, it's probably dealing with the issue of what would she have done if she was nominated; not a very 'happy' story in her case.
